The Blizzard

It's never good when Al Roker show up in your city. He only shows up when the world is ending. So when he was in Chicago, on the news on Tuesday morning, I knew it was going to be bad. So after a long night of the worst weather I have ever seen, here are the stats.

Stats:
3rd highest snowfall in Chicago ever
21 inches of snow in 24 hrs.
61 mph wind gusts
thundersnow
grapple
lightning
locusts (just kidding!)
Favorite quotes:
Olivia says "Today is a good day to be in Florida."
Ben says "I have freeze bites." He meant frost bite.
The aftermath:

We opened the garage this morning to a wall of snow. It was about to my waist. You can see the backs of the cars.

Winter :(

It is no surprise that Chicago is cold and windy. Most of the time I don't know what the actual temperature is because it almost always depresses me. I'd rather live in ignorance when it comes to the weather. It seems somehow colder during the day if I know that the high for the day is 19 than if I don't. This morning when we woke up it was -3 according to Rick's phone. The high today was 3 degrees.
I've had it with winter, coats, gray skies, coughs and colds, snow boots, running in and out of stores to keep from freezing to death, antibiotics, keeping up with the kids gloves and scarfs, and everything else that is winter related. I'm dreaming of flip flops and the sun.
