One week down

The kids have been in school for 1 week today. Other than some busing issues, everything has gone great and they are both loving being in school. Ben has the teacher that Rick and I wanted him to get this year and in meeting her, she is really great and appreciates Ben's enthusiasuium. He was excited about starting second grade. Not excited about doing homework and tests again but very excited to see his friends and tell them about his summer, mainly riding Space Mountain! He is a little obsessed these days, which is how Ben rolls. When he likes something, he likes it completely. He has even watched You tube clips of Kingda Ka which is apparently the fastest and highest roller coaster in the world. It scares me just watching it and it scares Ben too but he loves it.

Saying 'see ya later' to Olivia on the first day

Our baby girl started kindergarten this year!!! How did it happen?...I don't know. I asked her a few weeks before school started if there was anything that she was nervous about school. She answered "Oh No Mommy!" "What would I be nervous about?"
I will forever have in my mind the picture of Olivia kissing my hand one more time and turning around and marching right down the hall to her class with her new red backpack bouncing up and down. She looked so little and so big at the same time.
She has the teacher that Ben had for kindergarten. She is a perfect and crazy kindergarten teacher that in Olivia's words "already knows and loves her." Olivia also has afternoon kindergarten which was my preference. I wanted to be able to run around with her in the morning and then while Will is napping, be able to get things done around the house. So far, it has been really great, and for about and hour or two everyday I hear silence. It's heavenly!!!

The kids both brought their new teachers a little sweet treat (Andes Candies) for the first day of school.

The night before school started we read "The Kising Hand" (but really cried through the kissing hand) and Rick gave both kids blessings.
